Overview
Nasolabial cyst is a rare lesion, characterized by resistence in soft tissues in front of maxilla near the nasolabial sulcus. Nasolabial cysts are found most often in female adults in the fourth to fifth decades of life. They commonly present as a localized swelling in the nasolabial sulcus and nasal obstruction. In differential diagnosis it is necessary to distinguish nasolabial cyst from neoplasm and odontogenic processes. CT and MRI diagnostics play an important role in the diagnosis. Curative therapy is complete excision. In this article we present two case reports of patients with nasolabial cyst. The aim is to point out the advantages of endoscopic transnasal extirpation.
Keywords:
nasolabial cyst – non-odonthogenic cyst – transnasal extirpation
