Auditory Brainstem Implant from the Aspect of the Otolaryn-gologist - Initial Experience and Results
Sluchová kmenová neuroprotézaz pohledu otolaryngologa(První vlastní zkušenosti a výsledky)
V práci autoři prezentují vlastní zkušenosti se sluchovou kmenovou neuroprotézou. Dne11. ledna 1999 byla jako první v České republice a 45. v Evropě operována nemocná s neurofibro-matózou druhého typu. Oboustranné vestibulární schwannomy byly u ní odstraněny před 11 a 12lety. Autoři popisují vlastní implantace a výsledky. Zmiňují krátkou historii vývoje sluchové kme-nové neuroprotézy, její současný stav a očekávaný přínos.

The authors’ first own experience with an auditory brainstem implant is presented.The 1 ABI operation in the Czech Republic and 45 th in Europe was made in a female patient withneurofibromatosis 2, on January 11, 1999. Bilateral vestibular schwannomas were removed 11 and12 years ago, respectively. The implantation itself and results are described. A history of the auditorybrainstem implant is briefly described, including the current state-of-the-art and expected benefits.
