Isolated Lesions of the Sphenoidal Sinus
Izolované lézie klinovej dutiny
V práci prezentujeme 10 pacientov s izolovanou léziou klinovej dutiny, ktorí boli diagnostikovaní a liečení na našej klinike v období posledných osmich rokov, čo predstavuje 0,4 % zovšetkých pacientov vyšetrených v rinologickej ambulancii. V deviatich prípadoch išl o o izolovanúsfenoiditídu (cysta 3-krát, mukokéla 2-krát, pyokéla 3-krát, aspergilová sfenoiditída 1-krát) a v jednom prípade o chondrosarkóm. CT vyšetrenie malo pre stanovenie diagnózy kľúčovú úlohu. V dvochprípadoch sa rinoendoskopicky zistili patologické zmeny signifikantné pre léziu v klinovej dutine.V symptomatológii prevládala bolesť hlavy. Lézie boli liečené rinoendoskopickou operačnou technikou. Zdôrazňujeme význam zobrazovacieho vyšetrenia pri každej bolesti hlavy zdanlivo nejasnejetiológie a význam rinoendoskopickej chirurgickej techniky v liečbe.

The authors present 10 patients with an isolated lesion of the sphenoidal sinus whowere diagnosed and treated at their clinic during the last eight years. This represents 0.4% of allpatients examined in the rhinologiccal out-patient department. In nine instances isolated sphenoiditis was involved (cysts 3 times, mucocele twice, pyocele 3 times, aspergillus sphenoiditis once) andin one instance a chondrosarcoma. CT examination was of crucial importance for assessment of thediagnosis. In two instances by rhinendoscopy pathological changes significant for a lesion in thesphenoidal sinus were detected. In the symptomatology headache predominates. The lesions weretreated by rhinendoscopic surgical technique. The authors emphasize the importance of imagingexaminations in all cases of headache of an apparently obscure etiology and the importance ofrhinendoscopic surgery in treatment.
