Overview

We present a case of a 73-year-old woman with retrobulbar hematoma, who lost vision due to a late assessment diagnosis and therapy. Retrobulbar hematoma is a medical emergency, which can result in irreversible visual impairment. The main clinical symptoms are decreasing visual acuity, pain, proptosis after trauma or sinus surgery in medical history. Diagnosis consists of medical history, physical examination, and imaging methods. Medical treatment options include surgery decompression and drugs, which decreaes intraorbital pressure.
