Overview
One of the most threatening complications of the acute or chronic rhinosinusitis is cavernous sinus thrombosis. This is a life threatening condition, but its course is often subacute. Typical symptoms are headache, chemosis, periocular swelling, eye protrusion and paralysis of the cranial nerves. We present a case of cavernous sinus thrombosis in a young female in high stage of pregnancy (38th week). We discuss the diagnostic and treatment possibilities together with the survey of the world literature.
