Cholesteatoma in Occipital-temporal Region

Overview
Cholesteatoma occurs most frequently in the middle ear, more rarely in the pyramid of temporal bone or pontocerebellar angle. However, other sc. nontraditional localizations are of no surprise.
The case report presents a rare occurrence of extradural cholesteatoma in temporal-occipital region in a 34 years old woman. Headache was the single symptom of the disease.
Considering the present accessibility of imaging techniques and the time required for the problem to be solved, we should not be satisfied and the need of interdisciplinary neurootological specialization in difficult problem-solving diagnostics related to cranial basis affections is to be pointed out.
